It is a specific type of flat woven rug called Golbarjasta. Both techniques are used: firstly the knot rug with pile and secondly the flat woven ruf without pile, the so-called Kilim rugs.
Afghan rugs are woven in villages and handmade-carpet workshops in Afghanistan. The deep reds and the entire range of red, from purple to brown are their dominant colours. Repeating octagons, rhombi, yomut motifs and the design that looks like an elephant's footprint are typical of these carpets. Their warp is wool.
Kilim: It is a type of textile without a pile, that preceded the rug with a pile and it is mainly made by nomads. It has often got no back or front surface and it can be used on both sides.
All CarpetU2 carpets are subject to cleaning with high quality antibacterial and moth protection products according to Persian law.
